What are your family's traditions for General Conference?
We usually have a big breakfast on Sunday morning...something a little extra special and then gather around the TV to watch conference.
So... here's a recipe for some amazing syrup! I just have to share. I think some of you also have this recipe but if you don't, this is a must try! It is soooo good.
Bananas Foster Buttermilk Syrup
1 cube of butter
3/4 c. Brown sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk (I usually just add 1/2 to 1 tsp white vinegar to the milk)
1 t. baking soad
1 t. vanilla or rum extract (rum makes this so delicious!)
sliced bananas
chopped pecans or walnuts
Over medium heat, melt butter and sugar. Once melted, add buttermilk. When it begins to boil, remove from heat and add soda and extract. Stir well.
You can then add the bananas and chopped nuts to the syrup or top the pancakes, waffles or french toast with them all separately.
We used this syrup on french toast this morning. YUM!
This is just one of our traditions. What are some of yours????
*** I am loving every word of General Conference! My heart wants to burst with love and joy and I want nothing more than to follow the Savior. So grateful to be a part of His church ...in this journey of mortality.
I love you all..and are grateful to share this experience of General Conference with all of you.
Interesting side note: Mom we saw you on TV again...yesterday in a special program about the MTC. Caryn just called to tell us that she saw Eric on an EFY commercial. Just fun.
