November was a month for the Arts in our family...
Joseph's amazing choir put on a most excellent and touching concert honoring our Veterans on Veterans Day. It was wonderful! And we are proud of Joseph!
Besides that... Joseph performed in a major big most amazing musical, Aida.
I was astounded at the quality of the music and acting in this play. It was a huge success and we are proud of Joe for the months of hard work he put into this musical and grateful to gifted teachers and directors.. I swear they walk on water!
This was a fun musical for both the boys and the girls.... This play had some very masculine dancing and the costumes were so cool. I wish I had pictures..we weren't allowed to take any.. due to copyright issues, but here is a link ..it takes .31 seconds to watch.... and I kid you not... the kids looked as good as this... I think maybe even a little better.... but I know I am biased.
Anyway... the school owned Joe for most of November and we were sort of relieved when it was all done... But, it was amazing!
Then Jacob performed in a piano recital...
And he did great!
Also somewhere in the Fall we said goodbye to a dear friend... our huge tree ...
It was a sad day ....
Steve took this tree down with the help of our strapping big boys.... Steve is very good at this.. and if you ever need to take a tree down.. call! Because this job could have cost us about 800. if we had someone else do it. I guess Steve grew up doing this all the time.. I so love that.
I wasn't around when the tree actually fell, because I couldn't take it... I had to leave.. But, my neighbor said it made the coolest loudest sound when it fell. Anyway.. it was a big job and now we have to figure out what to do with our front landscaping now...
Last but not least...
Drum roll please!!!
Jon turned 16!
The boy was counting the minutes...
We had a big party for him with a bunch of his friends..and here's a few pictures...
I must say he has the nicest friends... just really great kids... excellent students, talented, really nice... I loved meeting them ALL. And they really seem to love him. So, it is just good all around.
Jonathan brings me joy each and every day. I love talking with him. He has his head on straight and knows where he is going and what he wants in life. He is a blessing in our family.
Now .. he is getting ready for his first date which is tomorrow night !
I have never seen a month go by as fast as November did.. and good thing because other than these wonderful events it was a month we were happy to leave behind in the dust. Hooray! And we're moving on to better days!
